Solarcitygas Solar Inverter
Your SCG Solar Inverter is designed for reliability, high efficiency and the ability to maintain it without needing installers to go on your roof. Our Solar Inverter has robust safety features, including integrated rapid shutdown, arc fault protection and ground fault protection, and no neutral wire allows for simple installation. SCG Solar Inverter has twice the standard number of MPPTs, allowing for high production on even complex roofs.

Solar Inverters
When completing your solar system layout, our engineers will select the best solar inverter based on your home’s roof structure and sun exposure. Solarcity gas has found that homeowners lose more energy production — and money — from costly maintenance due to unreliable inverters than from anything else. This choice provides you with reliable equipment without sacrificing overall production.

If we determine that your solar system requires individual panel power optimizers, such as if your home has significant shading, then our engineers will design them in your layout. While individual panel power optimizers help with shading problems, they also consume more energy to do this and are less efficient in full sunlight compared to string inverters. The best solution for solar is always to reduce obstructions and maximize your panels’ exposure to sunlight.

Mounting Hardware
Our proprietary mounting hardware provides a low-profile installation and allows us to install 30% fewer anchor points on your roof compared to a traditional installation. This is intended to result in fewer issues over time and better aesthetics.

SOLARCITY GAS Powerpack gives you the ability to store energy for later use and works with solar to provide key security and financial benefits. Each Powerwall system is equipped with energy monitoring, metering and smart controls for owner customization using the SCG App. The system learns and adapts to your energy use over time and receives over-the-air updates to add new features and enhance existing ones.

Powerpack & Powerpack+
Powerwall is a rechargeable home battery system that is installed with solar. A Powerpack system can be composed of up to 10 Powerpacks, including a combination of Powerpack+ and traditional Powerpack. A Powerpack+ contains additional features focusing on solar integration that enable cleaner installations with less equipment.

Integrated revenue-grade energy metering can help you accurately monitor your solar production and home energy consumption for precise, real-time insight to your home energy, claim credit for clean energy incentives and be ready to join future virtual power plants. Powerpack+ is able to intelligently power heavy equipment, and direct solar integration improves solar recharging during power outages, resulting in a better off-grid experience than ever before.

With Solar
When the sun rises, solar begins powering the home. When additional power is required for the home, the home can pull it from the utility grid.

Powerwall is charged by solar during the day, when solar panels are producing more electricity than the home is consuming. Powerwall then stores that energy until the home needs it, such as when solar is no longer producing at night, or when the utility grid is offline during a power outage.

out the next day, solar recharges Powerwall so you have a cycle of clean, renewable energy.

After installation, you will be contacted to go through a final building inspection. If your system includes a PowerPACK+, it will be activated and configured to self operated mode after installation. We will work with your utility to receive Permission to monitor your system from our nearest office

Inspection Day Checklist
After installation, you will be contacted to complete a final building inspection.

Contact us if work has been done to your home since you installed your system.
Ensure no other contractors or workers are on site during your solar inspection.
Clear your driveway and provide safe access to your electrical panel.
Ensure someone 18 years or older is home during the inspection.
Keep any pets and children away from the inspection area for their safety.
