Innovative Motion Sensors for Solar Street Lights
Using the accurate and reliable PIR sensing technology, this motion sensor street lighting solution delivers light on demand, which significantly boost road safety and energy savings.
To meet broader demands, CitySense Solar comes in two variants – Pole Mount and Luminaire Mount. Both versions are LSI based and work on 0-10V dimming protocol.
It is an ideal solution for making solar street lights smarter and more energy efficient.

Pole Mount and Luminaire Mount Options
To meet unique requirements, CitySense Solar comes in Pole-Mount and Luminaire-Mount variants.
- Pole-Mount is a premium variant:
- Street light motion sensor and controller come in a single housing
- Detects pedestrians, cyclists and cars
- Luminaire-Mount is an economical variant:
- Street light motion sensor and controller come separately
- Detects only slow-moving traffic
Adjustable Coverage Range
For Pole-Mount, coverage can be adjusted by tilting the sensor or mounting the sensor at different heights.
For Luminaire-Mount, coverage can be adjusted by four different types of lenses, which are easy to swap.

Heatmaps
Optimize your public lighting by understanding how and when the streets or specific areas (rail stations, parking lots, industrial zones) are used by the citizens.
- Measure people’s movement during the different hours at night for every night and detect bottlenecks if any
- Identify which areas or spots are more popular
- Spot trends and patterns, to adjust street lighting accordingly
Solar lights have many benefits
Cost savings
Solar lights don’t require electricity from the grid, so you’ll eliminate your monthly electricity bill.
Environmental conservation
Solar lights use clean energy and reduce your carbon footprint by reducing your reliance on conventional electricity.
Easy installation
Solar lights are simple to install and don’t require extensive electrical wiring. You can set them up in minutes, and they can be adjusted or repositioned easily.
Low maintenance
Solar lights are practically maintenance-free. The solar panel acts as a photocell, so the controller knows when to turn the lights on and off.
Safety
Solar lights can illuminate pathways, steps, and other potential hazards.
Versatility
Solar lights can be used in a variety of locations, including remote areas, gardens, parks, and pathways.
Long lifespan
Solar panels typically last 20-25 years, and LED fixtures can last 12-15 years.
Tax incentives
You may be eligible for tax incentives to help recoup the cost of installing a solar lighting system.

Benefits
Up to 80% energy savings and CO2 prevention
Solar street lights adapting automatically to human presence boost energy savings as well as significantly reduce CO2 emissions.
Up to 70% reduction in maintenance costs
Proactive alerts/notifications for faults, alarms and outages help optimize maintenance and reduce costs by up to 70%.
Detect intrusion in restricted areas
Lights illuminate only when a human is detected, alerting security about someone’s presence. Log data on detection timings are also available.
Smart monitoring of road usage
Analyze how frequently a specific road or path is being used by looking at the number of triggers registered by the sensors during the different hours of night.
Lower light pollution
During the off-peak hours, solar street lights can be dimmed to a pre-defined low level. Thereby reducing light pollution and benefitting nocturnal life.
Improve safety perception
With street lights spontaneously brightening up in the presence of human, the safety perception of the road users increases naturally.

Features
Universal Luminaire Compatibility
Thanks to Pole-Mount and Luminaire-Mount capability, CitySense Solar street light motion sensor can be installed on any type of fixture.
Automatic
CitySense Solar enables on-demand lighting by automatically adjusting the brightness of the lamps according to human presence.
Advanced Human Detection
The premium version of CitySense Solar (Pole-Mount) is designed to detect pedestrians, cyclists and cars, while filtering out interference factors such as small animals, wind, rain and snow.
Full Remote Management & Control
You can completely read and control motion sensor solar street lights through our own TALQ-certified software, CityManager, or any suitable third-party software.
Neighbor Trigger
Upon detection of human presence, all lights in the surrounding areas turn to a pre-defined brightness level, visually creating a safe circle of light around the occupant while he/she is travelling and improving safety perception at the same time.
Heatmaps
CitySense Solar performs traffic occupancy monitoring without additional sensors. The generated heatmap shows the relative traffic occupancy based on the number of triggers.
Failproof
3-level back-up system. In an unlikely case of a system failure, street lamps will return to the brightness of 100%.
Weather Resistant
Both the variants of CitySense Solar street light motion sensor are specifically designed for the harsh outdoor environments.
Ensure it’s Never too Dark
With street lights spontaneously brightening up in the presence of human, the safety perception of the road users increases naturally.
Applications
Advantages Of All Travel Energies Solar Lights
Lights Lies In The Installation
The biggest difference between the price of traditional and solar lights lies in the installation. The trenching, underground wiring, and labor required by traditional lighting totals $150 per foot, which averages $4,500 for each light. However, the cost of installing a solar light is only $500, (without the poles) already a savings of $4,000 dollars.
Lightning Fixture Pole
The average cost of one traditional light, including the lighting fixture, pole, and base, averages $1,500 USD per light. Admittedly, because of the advanced technology required for solar lights, they are even less expensive, averaging about $500 per light.
Solar LED Lights Offer
The third major cost lies in maintenance. Our Solar LED lights offer great longevity and get repaired less frequently. The solar batteries installed by our engineers require replacement every 6-8 years, but the systems themselves last much longer. LED fixtures can last 12-15 years, while the lifetime of the solar panel is typically 20-25 years and the pole 25-50 years.
Multiply that per light
A normal 400-watt high-pressure sodium light uses $15.00 worth of power per month. Multiply that per light (10 is a common light number), per month, and you’re easily spending $1,800 per light system annually, just on energy usage alone. On the other hand, You spend 0 dollars on solar energy lighting since the light from the sun is free.
Current Tax Incentives
If a solar lighting project for an area or a large building costs $30,000 for a complete installation from start to finish, current tax incentives can see a return of $9,000 back. DSIRE lists a bounty of state and federal level incentives to earn money back–why not make money on your solar installation?
Annual costs for maintenance
The annual price for a traditional light with installation costs $6,000, which is double the price of a solar light. Annual costs for maintenance, repair, and energy uses exceed solar lighting pricing significantly. The actual return on investment of a solar lighting system over traditional is more than 50%.
